ProMedica is currently refusing to sign a transfer agreement with Capital Care Network, the last remaining abortion clinic in Toledo.
Even though Capital Care Network can transfer patients to a ProMedica hospital if necessary, the state requires an official transfer agreement between the abortion clinic and the hospital.
ProMedica claims to be a leader in women’s healthcare yet they are blocking abortion access by refusing to grant a transfer agreement that would allow Capital Care Network to remain open. Without that agreement, Capital Care Network could close, eliminating abortion access for thousands of area women.
Without a local abortion provider, the women of Toledo will be forced to incur expensive travel costs or carry unhealthy or unwanted pregnancies to term. ProMedica leadership, doctors, and staff know how destructive this decision could be for the women of Toledo and their families.
